The Hasso Plattner School of Design Thinking at UCT (d-school) wants to ensure that as many students as possible have access to our workshops. We believe design thinking is a must-have skill for the future world of work. Our Design Thinking Week workshop runs over four days and is open to students registered at any university or higher learning institution in South Africa. It is usually held at our creative studio located at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
This free introductory programme is offered students interested in exploring creative ways of problem solving in a collaborative environment. Students will learn to work in multidisciplinary teams of up to six members. Each team is facilitated by a professional coach.
Successful applicants would be required to make their own travel, accommodation and living arrangements to attend the programme in Cape Town. The programme runs from 9am to 5pm every day.
Participants will be exposed to the following skills:
• Critical thinking and human-centered innovation
• Abductive reasoning for creative problem-solving skills
• Collaboration in diverse and multidisciplinary teams
• Empathetic approach to problem solving
